BIPOC Midwives

The shadowing opportunity at SFGH provides exposure to midwifery care in an interdisciplinary setting. In 2020 all midwives who work at SFGH and identify as Black, Indigenous or Person of Color will be able to have BIPOC Aspiring Midwives interested in a career in midwifery shadow them.

“Despite my initial attraction to the midwifery profession being the ability to catch babies, I am learning through my shadow shifts how important and essential their diverse skill set are for providing quality patient-centered care. Midwives do much more than deliver babies!”
